Please join CLJE and the Harvard Kennedy Institute of Politics for a lunchtime conversation with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown and journalist Connie Schultz on the future of the Democratic party and the labor movement, moderated by Professor and CLJE Executive Director Sharon Block. The event will be held in Wasserstein Hall 1019.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Senator Sherrod Brown served as Ohio state senator from 2007 to 2025. In March 2025 he launched the Dignity of Work Institute, dedicated to the people who make this country work and to creating an economy where Americans’ work is valued. Over a lifetime of public service, including more than three decades serving Ohioans in Congress, Sherrod has been one of the country’s most consistent champions for American workers.

Connie Schultz is a Pulitzer Prize winning columnist and author of the New York Times bestselling novel, The Daughters of Erietown. She is a Professor of Practice in Journalism at Denison University.

Sharon Block

Sharon Block is a Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School and Executive Director of the Center for Labor and a Just Economy at Harvard Law School. Prior to returning to Harvard, she served as the senior official delegated the duties of the Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in President Joe Biden’s White House.
